Sutton Coldfield Golf Club (The Championship Course)
Heathland Course in Sutton Coldfield, England
Sutton Coldfield Golf Club, established in 1889, moved to its current heathland site within Sutton Park a few years later. The course underwent significant re-design in the early 1920s under the guidance of Dr. Alister MacKenzie, with the revised layout completed by 1934. MacKenzie's influence is still evident in the course's structure and features. Known for its fast-draining fairways and hand-mown greens, the course provides consistent playing conditions throughout the year. Recent work has focused on heather regeneration and bunker refinement, restoring the traditional heathland character. Recognised as one of the Top 100 Courses in England, Sutton Coldfield Golf Club co-hosted the English Amateur Championships in 2010.
