Drayton Park Golf Club
Parkland Course in Tamworth, England
Drayton Park Golf Club, situated in Staffordshire, offers a parkland test routed across relatively flat terrain. The club's history dates back to 1897, though it moved to its current location, formerly part of the Drayton Manor estate, in 1935/36. The course was designed by the renowned James Braid, a five-time Open Champion. Characterized by narrow, tree-lined fairways and strategically placed bunkers, it demands accuracy off the tee. While not overly long, the course presents a good challenge with testing par 5s and tricky par 3s. The greens were updated to USGA standards in 2001 and are known to be slick. The club has a tradition of friendliness and hospitality, with a clubhouse maintaining an Art Deco style from the 1930s.
