Stockport Golf Club
Parkland Course in Stockport, England
Stockport Golf Club, established in 1905, is a mature parkland course located in England. Initially a 9-hole course, it moved to its current Torkington site and was designed by Alex Herd, the 1902 Open Champion. Following the First World War, significant modifications and restoration were undertaken by the esteemed architect Harry Colt. The course, while not overly long by modern standards at just under 6,400 yards, provides a good test of golf with tree-lined fairways and strategically placed bunkers. It has a history of hosting prestigious events, including serving as an Open Championship Regional Qualifying venue on multiple occasions.
