Cavendish Golf Club, located in Buxton, Derbyshire, England, is a classic moorland course designed by the esteemed Dr. Alister MacKenzie and opened in 1925. Often cited as an inspiration for MacKenzie's later masterpiece, Augusta National, Cavendish remains remarkably true to its original design. The course, while not long by modern standards at 5,721 yards with a par of 68, places a premium on strategy and accuracy, particularly to its subtly contoured greens. Undulating fairways, clever use of natural ravines and streams, and a variety of green complexes ensure a challenging and engaging round. The course has consistently been ranked among the top 100 in England and is celebrated for embodying MacKenzie's philosophy that quality is not solely defined by length. Cavendish has been a venue for Open Regional Qualifying.
