Buxton & High Peak Golf Club, established in 1887 and designed by Jack Morris (J. Morris), holds the distinction of being the oldest golf club in Derbyshire. The course is situated on free-draining limestone, contributing to its reputation for being consistently playable. The layout, influenced by the prevailing winds due to its elevated position some 1,100 feet above sea level, measures just under 6,000 yards and plays to a par of 69. While not subjected to arduous climbs, the course presents a challenging and enjoyable test. It has occasionally been likened to an inland links, particularly the 4th, 5th, and 6th holes.
