Southport Old Links Golf Club is situated in Churchtown, Southport, not far from the famed Royal Birkdale. The history of golf in this location at Moss Lane dates back to the early 1890s, with the current course having its origins in a 9-hole layout established in 1912 on reclaimed land. This was later extended to 18 holes in the 1930s, a design attributed to the renowned architect Harry Colt. The course offers a compelling blend of parkland and links characteristics, with undulating fairways, strategic bunkers, and views towards the Lancashire plain. Although fundamentally a 9-hole course, it is played from 18 different tees, providing a varied eighteen-hole experience. Southport Old Links hosts a number of amateur open competitions throughout the year.
