Nestled within the historic landscape of Audley End Park, shaped by the famed Capability Brown, Saffron Walden Golf Club offers a parkland test with a rich history. Established initially as a nine-hole course in 1919, it was expanded to its present eighteen-hole layout in 1975. The course boasts picturesque views of the stately Audley End House and the prominent spire of St Mary's Parish Church, providing a quintessentially English backdrop to your round. The design, with roots in a 1929 layout by Harry Vardon and Reg Cox, presents a challenging experience with notable changes in elevation, undulating fairways, and strategically placed trees. While not an Open Qualifying venue, the club has hosted professional events, including a WPGA Series event in 2024, part of a tour culminating at Royal Troon.
