Ormonde Fields Golf Club, nestled in the picturesque landscape of England, traces its origins back to 1926 with a 9-hole layout designed by Fred W. Hawtree. The land underwent significant change, being subject to opencast mining before being restored and expanded into an 18-hole course. The current configuration of the course is the result of remodelling work undertaken in the late 1990s. Playing at Ormonde Fields offers a varied test, featuring tree-lined fairways and a mix of shorter, tactical holes and longer, challenging par fives, including Derbyshire's only hole over 600 yards. The course layout incorporates numerous doglegs and elevated greens, requiring thoughtful shot-making rather than simply relying on power.
