Liphook Golf Club, nestled on the border of Hampshire and West Sussex within the South Downs National Park, offers a traditional heathland golf experience with a rich history. The club was founded in 1921, with the full 18-hole course opening for play in 1923. Originally laid out by Arthur Croome, a proponent of the strategic school of design, the course saw subsequent revisions by Tom Simpson, who became Master of the Green. More recently, extensive changes were made by Tom Mackenzie of Mackenzie & Ebert (Martin Ebert), completed for the club's centenary in 2022, which included the creation of new holes and alterations to the routing to improve safety and flow. The course is renowned for its natural beauty, featuring heather, gorse, pine, and birch, demanding accuracy over brute force. While not a regular Open Championship venue, Liphook Golf Club did host a Senior Open Regional Qualifying event in 2017.
