Old Thorns Golf Club is situated in the rolling countryside of Hampshire, England. The course, designed by Peter Alliss and Dave Thomas, opened in 1982. It's known for its mix of parkland and woodland holes, featuring mature trees, water hazards, and strategically placed bunkers. The elevated 5th tee provides notable views of the surrounding landscape. Old Thorns has a connection to some of golf's legends, with Jack Nicklaus, Seve Ballesteros, Isao Aoki, and Bill Rogers playing in the course's official opening in 1982. While Old Thorns is not listed as a venue that has hosted Open Championship Regional Qualifying, nearby Blackmoor Golf Club has this distinction and is sometimes packaged with Old Thorns in golf tours.
