Leeds Golf Centre, home to the Wike Ridge Course, is a notable golfing destination located just north of Leeds, England. The Wike Ridge Course has a history dating back to 1993 when it was originally designed by the esteemed Donald Steel. It holds the distinction of being one of the first 'pay and play' courses in the region. In 2012 and 2013, the course underwent a significant redevelopment led by Jonathan Gaunt of Jonathan Gaunt, aiming to enhance its strategic playability and aesthetic appeal. The course is set on what was originally exposed sandy farmland, transformed into a parkland layout. It features undulating greens and incorporates a number of water hazards and strategically placed bunkers that require careful consideration and execution. While a popular venue for local and regional events, the Wike Ridge Course has not hosted The Open Championship Qualifying in the past, though it is situated in an area known for clubs that have. The layout presents a fair test for a range of abilities, reflecting its design to USGA standards.
