Knott End Golf Club

Knott End Golf Club, established in 1910 and designed by James Braid, offers a compelling mix of links and parkland golf on the Lancashire coast. The course is laid out in two distinct halves. The initial nine holes run alongside the River Wyre estuary, providing expansive views of the water, the Bowland Hills, and Morecambe Bay. The back nine transitions into a more woodland setting with views of the surrounding countryside. The course, an 18-hole, par 69 layout, is noted for its playability for a range of handicaps, though coastal winds can add a significant challenge. Notably, Knott End Golf Club has a history as a Final Qualifying course for The Open Championship, hosting the event in 1974, 1979, and 1988 when The Open was held at nearby Royal Lytham & St Annes.
