Horwich Golf Club
Moorland Course in Bolton, England
Horwich Golf Club, located north of Bolton in England, is a moorland course designed by George Lowe. Founded in 1895, it holds the distinction of being the oldest member of the Bolton Golf Association still occupying its original site. The course is known for being tight and undulating, featuring 18 tees that play to 9 greens, offering views across the Lancashire basin. While not a well-known Open Qualifying location, it has a history dating back to the late 19th century with various club competitions recorded. The club reportedly closed in 2022, with proposals for housing development on the land.
