Hankley Common Golf Club

Hankley Common Golf Club, nestled in the Surrey sandbelt, is a revered heathland course with a rich history dating back to its founding in 1897. Initially a nine-hole layout designed by Edward Turle, it was expanded to 18 holes in the 1920s under the guidance of James Braid. Harry Colt later made significant alterations in the 1930s, contributing to its reputation as one of England's finest inland courses. The course is known for its firm, sandy subsoil, slick greens, and fairways framed by heather, pines, and birch trees, offering a classic heathland golf experience. It has been recognised for its quality, featuring in lists of top courses in England and Great Britain & Ireland. The club has a history of hosting prestigious events, including Open Regional Qualifying from 2011 to 2015 and again in 2022, and Final Qualifying for the AIG Women's Open in 2023. The challenging layout includes memorable holes such as the par-3 7th and the demanding par-4 18th.
