Ferndown Golf Club, located in Dorset, England, is home to the venerable Old Course, a classic heathland layout steeped in history. Designed by Open Champion Harold Hilton, the course opened for play in 1914. Set amongst pines and heather, the Old Course is known for its subtly challenging design, where strategic positioning for doglegs and navigating well-placed, steep-lipped bunkers are key. While not exceptionally long by modern standards, the course demands accuracy to avoid the natural hazards. Ferndown has a history of hosting significant events, including the Women's British Open in 1989 and has served as a Regional Open Qualifying venue on multiple occasions, including from 2008-2012 and again from 2021-2025.
