Established in 1899, East Herts Golf Club boasts a rich history, though its current form at Hamels Park dates back to 1974. The original layout, near Ware, was crafted by the legendary John Henry Taylor and later refined by James Braid before the club relocated. The present parkland course, set within the picturesque grounds of Hamels Mansion in England, was designed by a committee of club members. It's characterised by mature trees, strategic bunkering, and undulating greens that demand precision. While not a frequent host for major championships, the course offers an engaging test of golf suitable for mid to low handicappers, rewarding accuracy over brute force.
