Bushey Hall Golf Club, established in 1890, holds the distinction of being the oldest parkland golf course in Hertfordshire. Designed by Robert Stewart Clouston, the course is known for its mature trees, undulating fairways, and strategic water hazards, offering a classic test of parkland golf. While not a prominent championship venue, its historical significance in the local golfing landscape is notable. The club garnered some public attention more recently when it served as a filming location for scenes in the movie 'The Phantom of the Open'. The club reportedly closed in 2019 for redevelopment, with its future status uncertain at the time of writing.
