Burghley Park Golf Club, nestled in the historic parkland of Burghley House in England, dates back to 1890. Originally conceived as a 'links course,' it was relocated in 1901 and has since evolved into a parkland layout that retains some of the characteristics of its early grassland origins, thanks to the underlying limestone providing excellent drainage. The course has seen continuous play throughout its history, including during wartime, and has undergone various developments over the years, such as the introduction of bunkers in the 1950s and more recent improvements guided by architect Tom Mackenzie. The layout presents an enjoyable test of golf, featuring notable stretches like the challenging trio of holes from the 12th to the 14th.
