Bristol and Clifton Golf Club
Parkland Course in Bristol, England
Bristol and Clifton Golf Club, established in 1891, is a mature parkland course in England, situated near the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Initially a 9-hole course, it was extended to 18 holes by 1895 and later redesigned by Charles Kenneth Cotton in 1948. The course measures 6413 yards from the back tees and is known for its undulating fairways, tree-lined holes, and strategically placed bunkers, demanding accuracy. Notable holes include the challenging par-4 3rd, the tricky par-3s at the 6th and 7th, and the par-4 15th, named after the Road Hole at St Andrews. The course's natural drainage ensures it remains playable year-round. Bristol and Clifton Golf Club has hosted various amateur events, including the English Senior Men's Amateur Championship in 2013 and the English Women's Open Stroke Play Championship in 2016. It also previously served as a regional qualifying venue for The Golf Club Secretary's Open Championship in 2009.
