Blakes Golf Club, situated in the Essex countryside near Epping Forest, presents an enjoyable inland links experience. Designed by Howard Howard Swan and established in 2006 following a remodelling, the course features undulating fairways and strategically placed sleepered bunkers that evoke a traditional seaside feel. The layout incorporates water features, notably the testing island green par-3 8th hole and a challenging finish at the 18th with lakes guarding the approach. A modern drainage system ensures the course remains open and playable throughout the year. While not a historic championship venue, Blakes offers a pleasant round testing a range of shots, accessible to visitors seeking a taste of links-style golf away from the coast.
