Braintree Golf Club, situated in the pleasant Essex countryside, holds the distinction of being the third oldest golf club in the county, with a history dating back to 1891. The current course, an 18-hole parkland layout, was designed by F.W. Hawtree and came into play in 1973 after the club relocated to Stisted. The course features mature woodland and fairways that can test golfers of varying skill levels. The layout includes two returning loops, with the front nine offering a mix of par threes and fours, while the back nine incorporates the River Blackwater.
