The Glamorganshire Golf Club
Parkland Course in Penarth, Wales
Steeped in history, The Glamorganshire Golf Club in Wales is recognised as the birthplace of the universally adopted Stableford scoring system, first trialled here in 1898. Founded in 1890, it holds the distinction of being one of the oldest golf clubs in Wales. The course itself is a mature parkland layout set on undulating ground, featuring tree-lined fairways, strategically placed bunkers, and some water hazards. While not a links course despite its coastal proximity in Penarth, it offers engaging views and a test of accuracy and strategy.
