Wick Golf Club

Wick Golf Club, established in 1870, is the oldest golf club in the Highlands of Scotland and is located about 3 miles north of the town of Wick in Caithness. It is one of the most northerly courses on the mainland of the UK. The course is a traditional 18-hole links layout featuring nine holes played out along the coast and nine returning beside the sand dunes, with views over Sinclair Bay and historic castles. The course has undergone some changes over the years, notably in 2002 with advice from Ronan Rafferty, to improve safety and optimize tee locations. The course is playable year-round with rarely any winter tees or greens. Visitors are welcome daily outside of competition times and can usually just turn up to play. The course offers a challenging yet enjoyable experience with firm and fast fairways, well-positioned bunkers, and smooth rolling greens. While there isn't a dedicated pro shop, essential items are available at the bar. Club and trolley hire are available, and buggies can also be hired, with pre-booking recommended.
