Muirfield Golf Club, located in Gullane, East Lothian, Scotland, is the home of The Honourable Company of Edinburgh Golfers, one of the oldest golf clubs in the world, founded in 1744. The 18-hole links course, known for its classic and fair test of golf, was originally created by Old Tom Morris in 1891 and later redesigned by Harry Colt in 1925, with refinements by Tom Simpson in the 1930s and Martin Hawtree in 2011. The course has a distinctive layout with the front nine holes circling clockwise around the perimeter and the back nine running anti-clockwise on an inner circuit. Muirfield is a renowned championship venue, having hosted numerous Open Championships, Amateur Championships, Ryder, Walker, and Curtis Cups. Visitors are welcome on Tuesdays and Thursdays year-round, with a minimum age of 16 and a handicap of 18 or less required. The club has practice facilities including a driving range, chipping area, and putting green, and offers caddie and pull cart hire.
