Founded in 1891 with an original layout by Willie Campbell, the course underwent significant changes by James Braid in the 1920s. Situated on a plateau, the scenic course features narrow fairways lined by heather, gorse, and trees, making full use of the natural hills and hollows. Accuracy is key on this challenging layout, which offers picturesque views across the Gryffe valley and towards the Renfrewshire Uplands.
