While the legendary Championship Links at Royal County Down often steal the spotlight, the Annesley Links offers a delightful and historic links experience in its own right. Dating back to 1889 with early input from Old Tom Morris, this eighteen-hole layout provides a charming contrast to its formidable neighbour. Carved from the same stunning duneland against the backdrop of the Mourne Mountains and overlooking Dundrum Bay, the Annesley is a shorter, par-67 test. It features the classic links characteristics of narrow, undulating fairways and small, often tricky greens defended by challenging bunkers. A significant redesign by Mackenzie & Ebert (Martin Ebert) in 2015 enhanced the course, integrating the dramatic natural landscape and adding memorable holes. Though perhaps less heralded, a round on the Annesley Links is a true taste of traditional links golf in a spectacular setting.
