Nestled in County Down, Clandeboye Golf Club is home to two engaging courses, with the Ava Course offering a delightful test of accuracy and shot-making. Established in 1933 as part of the original club layout designed by William Renwick Robinson, the Ava was later shaped into its current form, benefiting from the expertise of figures including Peter Alliss and Dave Thomas. Playing shorter than its sibling, the Ava course is characterised by its often narrow, tree-lined fairways and the presence of gorse and heather, demanding thoughtful club selection and precise ball striking. While perhaps not possessing the championship length of some, its blend of natural hazards and subtle doglegs provides an enjoyable and varied challenge.
