Whipsnade Park Golf Club, established in 1974 and nestled in the picturesque Chiltern Hills on the borders of Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Bedfordshire, offers a serene parkland golfing experience in England. Designed by local professional George Hamshaw, the course was laid out by hitting golf balls to best utilise the land. Over 20,000 trees were planted between 1979 and 1984 to define the fairways of this gently undulating course, which is bordered on two sides by Whipsnade Wild Animal Park. The clubhouse, originally farm buildings dating back to 1850, adds a touch of history with its restored flint walls and oak beams, providing a welcoming atmosphere. While not a regular host for major professional tournaments, the club has a mature, tree-lined course that presents a varied and interesting challenge.
