About Westbury Golf Course
Nestled in the mature parkland at the foot of the iconic Westbury White Horse in Wiltshire, Westbury Golf Club offers a charming nine-hole golfing experience. Established in 1973 on land formerly owned by Blue Circle Cement, the course was initially developed by a dedicated team of volunteers from the cement works. Over the years, the course has matured, with gently undulating fairways that provide an enjoyable test for golfers of all abilities. While primarily a nine-hole layout, the course can be played as 18 holes by utilizing differing tee positions for each nine. The course features a mix of par 3s, 4s, and 5s, incorporating various hazards including bunkers, trees, and a burn, requiring careful shot selection. In 2009, ownership of the land transferred to White Horse Country Park, leading to improvements in the clubhouse facilities. Plans have been drawn up by architect Adrian Stiff for a potential expansion to 18 holes, with some new holes already laid out.
