Walmer & Kingsdown Golf Club
Downland Course in Deal, England
Perched atop the iconic White Cliffs of Dover, Walmer & Kingsdown Golf Club offers a golfing experience rich in history and blessed with commanding views across the English Channel. Established in 1909, the course was laid out by renowned architect James Braid. Its downland terrain presents an undulating challenge, with fairways winding through a dramatic landscape. The club's history is marked by its significant disruption during World War Two, after which it was lovingly restored and reopened in 1949. The chalk base provides excellent drainage, ensuring playability throughout the year. While not a regular venue for The Open Championship qualifying, the club is situated in a stretch of coastline famed for its Open Championship venues and hosts its own series of popular open competitions.
