Verulam Golf Club, located in St Albans, England, is a parkland course with a rich history dating back to its founding in 1905. Originally a nine-hole layout, it was expanded to 18 holes in 1909 under the design of James Braid. The club holds a significant place in golf history as the home of Samuel Ryder, the founder of the Ryder Cup, who was a member and served as captain. The course is known for its well-protected, undulating greens and requires accuracy off the tee to navigate the tree-lined fairways. Hazards include out of bounds areas, tree plantations, water features, and the River Ver. While not exceptionally long at 6,429 yards from the white tees, it offers a consistent challenge. The course is also noted for its good drainage, allowing for play throughout the year with minimal closures.
