Tidworth Garrison Golf Club, located in Wiltshire, England, is a private members' club with a rich history tied to the military presence in the area. Founded in 1908, the initial 9-hole course was built by soldiers and locals, later expanding to 18 holes with the help of German Prisoners of War after World War I. The course, a downland layout, was subsequently refashioned by the renowned architect Harry Colt and further altered by Donald Steel in the late 1990s. The natural contours of the land and the wind provide the primary challenges, meaning fairway bunkering is kept to a minimum. Described by Peter Alliss as "a gem of a course on the edge of Salisbury Plain," it offers a peaceful golfing experience with views over the Plain. The club is rated as the best private members club in Wiltshire by Top 100 Golf Courses. While not a historical Open Qualifying location, Tidworth Garrison has hosted England Golf Championships and currently holds qualifying events for the US Masters Texas Scramble series. The chalk base ensures excellent drainage, allowing for year-round play.
