Andover Golf Club
Parkland Course in Andover, England
Andover Golf Club, established in 1907, is a mature parkland course situated just south of Andover town centre in Hampshire, England. Originally a 9-hole course laid out on a former rifle range and adjoining field, it is believed to have been designed by Mr. Bob Munro, who was the professional at Royal Wimbledon Golf Club at the time. The club has grown significantly since its founding and now offers splendid views of the undulating Hampshire countryside. The chalk-based course provides excellent natural drainage, ensuring it remains open even in adverse weather conditions, while the fairways retain a softness appreciated by golfers. The greens are well-maintained, and the course presents a fair challenge with strategically placed hazards that test lower handicappers without being overly penal for higher handicappers or social golfers.
