Opened in 1989 as part of the hotel and country club conversion, the course makes good use of the undulating landscape. The layout meanders through mature woodland and open parkland, providing a testing round with notable elevation changes and strategic hazards. While not typically found on lists of the UK's most famous championship venues, it presents a solid challenge for golfers of varying abilities. The course has previously hosted regional PGA and England Golf events.
