Royal Winchester Golf Club, established in 1888, is situated on undulating downland near the historic city of Winchester in England. The club was initially located at Morn Hill before relocating to its current site on Teg Down in 1901. The course was originally set out by John Henry Taylor and later modified by Harry Colt. The club was granted its Royal prefix by King George V in 1913. The course is known for its well-draining chalk base, allowing for year-round play. Stretching to 6,387 yards from the back tees, it plays to a par of 72 (though some sources indicate a par of 71). The course offers a challenging yet enjoyable experience with picturesque views of the Hampshire countryside. Recent bunker renovations completed in 2019 have enhanced playability. Royal Winchester has not been noted as an Open Qualifying location.
