Northampton Golf Club (Harlestone Course)
Parkland Course in Northampton, England
Established in 1893, Northampton Golf Club has a history rooted in several locations before settling at its current home on the Althorp Estate. The club's early courses saw the influence of notable architects like Old Tom Morris, Willie Park Jr. and James Braid. The present 18-hole parkland course, the Harlestone layout, was designed by Donald Steel and opened for play in 1990. Playing across rolling terrain, the course provides a pleasant test of golf. The closing stretch of holes, routed around the ornamental Harlestone Lake, offers a memorable finish, particularly the par-three 16th and the final hole, where the tee shot requires a carry over the water.
