North Foreland Golf Club (Main)
Cliff Top Course in Broadstairs, England
Perched on the Kent coastline, North Foreland Golf Club, established in 1903, offers a classic seaside golfing experience. The Main Course, originally laid out by Sir William Capel Slaughter, was significantly redesigned in 1913 by the esteemed architectural duo of Herbert Fowler and Tom Simpson. This collaboration expanded the course to a full 18 holes, strategically incorporating the natural cliff-top terrain and offering panoramic views of the English Channel from every hole. While the fairways are generally generous, the course's defence lies in its strategically placed bunkers and subtly contoured, fast-running greens, demanding thoughtful approach shots. The prevailing coastal winds add another layer of challenge. Notably, North Foreland Golf Club has previously served as a Final Qualifying venue for The Open Championship when it has been held at nearby Royal St George's.
