About Mellor & Townscliffe Golf Club

Mellor & Townscliffe Golf Club is situated on the western slopes of the Pennines, where the landscapes of Derbyshire and Cheshire converge. The club's history is rooted in the founding of Mellor Golf Club in 1894. A significant development occurred in 1920 when the nearby Townscliffe Golf Club merged, leading to the expansion to a full 18 holes and forming the club known today. The course presents a varied test, transitioning between woodland on the opening holes, more exposed moorland around the turn, and a parkland finish featuring water hazards. While not a venue that has hosted Open Qualifying, it offers a golfing experience set against wide-ranging views across the surrounding countryside.
