Macclesfield Golf Club, established in 1889, is one of the oldest golf clubs in Cheshire, England. Initially a 9-hole course on land that was part of Upton Hall Farm, the club moved to its current location at The Hollins in 1901. The desire for an 18-hole course, first seriously discussed in 1913, was finally realised with the opening of a full 18 holes in 1990, incorporating ten new holes opened in 1993. The course is set on a hillside on the edge of the Peak District National Park, offering expansive views. While not a long course, measuring around 5500 to just under 6000 yards from various tees, its hilly terrain presents a significant challenge, with one incline on the front nine colloquially known as "Heart-Attack Hill". Course management is essential due to tricky and narrow drives. The course style is described as parkland. The club has a history of holding annual competitions, including the Brocklehurst Cup, which dates back to 1890.
