Keighley Golf Club
Parkland Course in Keighley, England
Keighley Golf Club, established in 1904, is a parkland course nestled in the Aire Valley in West Yorkshire, England. Initially a nine-hole layout, the club moved to its current location at Howden Park in 1908 and was extended to 18 holes in 1909. A significant redesign was undertaken by Herbert Fowler in 1922-1923, a notable architect whose work includes contributions to Walton Heath and The Berkshire. The course, largely following Fowler's design, presents a good test with well-defined fairways and greens, complemented by mature trees. While not known as a regular Open Qualifying venue, the club professional, Mike Bradley, did qualify for The Open at Royal Troon in 1997 while representing Keighley. The course is laid out along the banks of the River Aire and the Leeds & Liverpool Canal, offering a generally gentle walk, though some longer par-fours demand good length off the tee.
