John O'Gaunt Golf Club

Nestled in the heart of Bedfordshire, John O'Gaunt Golf Club offers a rich history and two distinct parkland courses. The club was founded in 1948, with the original John O'Gaunt course designed by W.G. Groves. Fred Hawtree later contributed to the expansion, and his son Martin designed the Carthagena course, which opened in 1980. The John O'Gaunt course, a classic tree-lined layout, demands precision, while the Carthagena offers a more contemporary feel with wider fairways and strategic water features. The club has a notable history of hosting significant events, including the English Golf Union Seniors Championship and Final Qualifying for the Women's British Open in 2016. The imposing Victorian clubhouse, once the ancestral home of the Burgoyne family, adds to the historical charm, offering a blend of period detail and modern comfort.
