About Great Torrington Golf Club
Great Torrington Golf Club, nestled in the glorious countryside of North Devon, England, offers a unique golfing experience steeped in history. Founded in 1895, the club moved to its current heathland/parkland site at Weare Trees in 1932. The course is set over a pleasantly sloping landscape, providing a testing round across its nine holes, played from 18 distinct tee positions to create an 18-hole experience. While not a championship-length course, measuring around 4458 yards from the back tees, its well-drained fairways and notably excellent greens, often cited as among the best in the county, present a fair challenge for golfers of all abilities. The layout, with its swathes of gorse and scattered trees, evokes a sense of golf's origins in Britain, offering a charming and less conventional game. The club is known for its warm hospitality, with a welcoming clubhouse, bar, and restaurant facilities.
