East Devon Golf Club

East Devon Golf Club, established in 1902, is situated on the cliffs between Budleigh Salterton and Exmouth, offering impressive views of the Jurassic Coast and Lyme Bay. The course, primarily heathland with touches of moorland and parkland, was originally laid out by Captain Robert Tosswill. It underwent significant changes in the 1920s by the renowned architect Harry Colt, with contributions also made by Herbert Fowler and James Braid in the 1930s, including the current 8th hole and 18th green. The course is not exceptionally long, playing just under 6,300 yards from the longest tees, but its undulating terrain, gorse, and heather provide a good test. It is recognized as one of the finest courses in the South West and is ranked in the Top 100 Courses in the British Isles. The club has hosted England Golf championships, including the English Club Championship and the English Girls' Open Championship.
