Nestled within the picturesque Goodwood Estate in West Sussex, Golf At Goodwood offers two distinct 18-hole layouts, the historic Downs Course and the parkland-style Park Course. The focus here is on the Downs Course, a classic downland track originally conceived by the renowned Scottish architect James Braid and opened for play in 1914. Known for its fast-running fairways and undulating greens, the course traverses dramatic changes in elevation across the rolling hills. Braid's signature design elements, including strategic doglegs and well-placed bunkering, remain a test of both skill and nerve. The Downs Course has been recognized for its quality, appearing in Golf World's Top 100 courses in England. Subsequent renovations have aimed to preserve Braid's original vision while adapting the course to the modern game. It offers a compelling round with views across the surrounding countryside.
