Glen Gorse Golf Club
Parkland Course in Leicester, England
Established in 1933, Glen Gorse Golf Club is a mature parkland course located in Leicestershire, England. The course was founded by Mr. J.E. White, who purchased Woodside Farm and, with the help of friends, developed the initial holes. By 1938, the course featured 18 holes. During World War II, mounds were added to several fairways to prevent enemy aircraft landings, which required restoration after the war. Today, Glen Gorse is considered a good test of golf, known for its strategically placed trees that reward accurate driving and demanding approach shots to narrow greens. The closing three holes are particularly noted as a strong finish. The club has previously served as a venue for Open Championship Regional Qualifying.
