Nestled within the sprawling Cowdray Estate in West Sussex, Cowdray Park Golf Club offers a golfing experience steeped in history, with the game having been played on this site for over a century. The club, a proprietary business owned by the Viscount Cowdray, became a members' club in the 1920s. Originally laid out in 1906 by Jack White, the professional at Sunningdale, the course saw modifications and lengthening in 1913 under the guidance of Tom Simpson. Simpson continued to advise the club into the 1930s. The course itself is an attractive par 70 layout, measuring 6331 yards from the white tees, with fairways that harmoniously blend into the lightly wooded downland landscape. While not overly bunkered, the strategic placement of hazards, coupled with elevation changes and multi-tiered greens, demands precision. Cowdray Park has previously been a venue for Regional Qualifying for The Open Championship.
