Corhampton Golf Club

Established in 1891, Corhampton Golf Club is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty in southern Hampshire, offering stunning views across hills, valleys, and woodlands. Initially playing on Corhampton Down, the club was first mentioned in the 1897-98 Golfing Annual directory. For a period, only seven holes were played on Saturdays due to the local cricket pitch occupying part of the course. The course underwent significant changes over the years, including a re-arranged 9-hole layout in 1932 with the arrival of greenkeeper Bert Dedman, which remained until 1973 when a decision was made to expand to 18 holes. In 1988, more land was acquired, allowing for a further extension and reconfiguration into two loops of nine, with architects Hawtree and Company carrying out the work, adding four new holes while retaining the notable 16th. Today, the course is a classic downland layout known for its free-draining nature, providing year-round play. It measures 6,398 yards from the white tees with a par of 71. The course features natural contours, mature woodland, and strategically placed bunkers, offering a good test for golfers of varying abilities. While not a renowned Open Qualifying location, the club does host open events, including a Junior European Open qualifier.
