Churston Golf Club
Parkland Course in Brixham, England
Churston Golf Club, established in 1890, is situated on a strip of downland turf overlooking Torbay in Devon, England. While the club dates back to 1890, the current course was largely laid out by the renowned architect Harry Colt after the First World War, retaining only the first and last holes from the original layout. Typical of Colt's designs, the 18-hole course is described as challenging yet forgiving, featuring undulating ground, natural features, and small, contoured greens. Although not a current Open Qualifying location and not typically ranked among the very top courses in the UK, Churston offers a pleasant golfing experience with coastal views. Notably, the celebrated professional golfer Ted Ray served as the club professional at Churston in the early 1900s.
