Chingford Golf Course, established in 1888 as the Royal Epping Forest Golf Club, is one of London's older public courses, set within the picturesque surroundings of Epping Forest. Initially a 22-hole layout by William Dunn Jr., it was later refined to 18 holes by James Braid in the 1920s. The course became a municipal entity under the City of London in 1901, which helped regulate public access. The course is a par 71/72, playing just under 6,000 to over 6,300 yards from different tees, featuring undulating fairways, mature trees, and strategic bunkers. While generally flat and walkable, the design offers a variety of lies and challenges, particularly with its greens in the summer. It provides a classic golfing experience within easy reach of central London. There is no information to suggest Chingford Golf Club has been used as an Open Qualifying location.
