Chiltern Forest Golf Club
Parkland Course in Aylesbury, England
Nestled on the northern edge of the Chiltern Hills, Chiltern Forest Golf Club offers a parkland test with a history stretching back over a century. Golf was first played on this land, once part of the Rothschild estate, in the late 19th century. During the Second World War, the site, then a military training ground, saw the notable golfer Henry Cotton involved in the development of a nine-hole course. The club as it is known today came into being in the 1970s after acquiring the land from the Ministry of Defence, with the current 18-hole layout officially opening in 1992. The course is characterised by its undulating terrain and tree-lined fairways that demand accuracy. Its chalk-based soil provides good drainage, allowing play even in wetter conditions. While not a widely recognised championship venue, a player from Chiltern Forest Golf Club did compete in a Regional Qualifying event for The Open Championship in 2021.
